We Floridians finally got some slightly cooler temperatures our way, and now I'm able to feature my newly purchased grey booties and my red "pullover" vest. I have been on a hunt for both of these items for a while now, and manage to snag both this year. In fact, I like the red vest so much that I decided to buy the pink version as well, since I think they are truly perfect for South Florida.

The addition of the statement jewellery piece was a nice way to complete this fall like outfit. To conclude this post, I like to wish all my Americans followers a Happy Thanksgiving and please stay safe during black Friday, I did that once and I will never do that again..hehe.

Here is another color that can be worn with the camo pants, and it is bright yellow. So far I have worn these pants with red, blue, pink, and now yellow. All and all, this pants was indeed a successful purchase as far as remix is concerned. Looking forward to more purchases that I can remix like these camo pants.

hehe...This is technically not a remix since I have not worn this shirt dress by itself yet (I totally blame it on the curves...^_^), but I thought why not wear it as a tunic shirt, especially when I saw PinkSole wearing a similar concept here. Adding the white skinny jeans not only made this work ready, but I could have easily reworked this same outfit for a happy hour later on. So I will be revisiting this outfit in the future for sure.

Sisterlocks are not maintenance free, but they are low maintenance as far as the “natural hair” movement is the concern.  Once you have reached my length though most of your concern will be about moisture control and lint reduction.

Though I have an in-depth post about what I do to maintain healthy looking Sisterlocks here, below is my daily routine as of today.

Morning Routines

I usually like to feel if my hair is dry during the early morning hours, and the best time for me is right after a hot shower because my fingers are often desensitized by then. If they are dry to touch, I use my current favorite oil and moisturize from the bottom up.

For styling, I finger comb my locks....that is it. 

If it weren’t for my daughter, I would not own not one single comb or brush and that is because I don't use them, nor do I care for them lol.

As of right now, hair clips & hair ties are my favorite things to use right now for both work and the GYM. The clips that you see me wear all the time in my "What I Wore" series help keep my locks away from my face.

Note: When I was in the newbie stage, I use to spritz my hair with water every day, and later when my locks were a little more mature I used my homemade spray. Now that my Sisterlocks are a little bit longer, I don't think it is feasible to do it every single day.

Night Routine

If I were a clothing item that was lint heavy, I inspect my locks that night and remove any lints that were stuck to them that day. I don’t ever wait to remove any of my lints because that is how they get embed so deep that it becomes a problem later.

Note: I also like to wear my hair pinned up when I wear things like sweaters etc. because I know my locks will have a lot of lints from them. I got a good reminder of that fact from my Atlanta Georgia trip last month when I wore my pink sweater. I wore my hair down one day there and I end up spending a good portion of my time removing pink lints from my locks. Never again!

Last but not least, I wear my satin bonnet every single night. I thought I would have left that particular item behind during my natural days, but alas I can’t. Somehow I feel strange without it on, and it also helps control lints from getting on my hair, as well as retain moisture on my locks.  So it really performing double duty, so I highly recommend using one for lock wearers.

I also find that my satin bonnet has become a way to smooth my irritation with my now longer locks. They are days I just don't want it on my back or face (which still amazing that I'm getting annoyed by them).

This weekend was kind of heavy for me. With the horrible news that are still coming back on what happened in Paris, and other countries, my heart is heavy...truly heavy. The only thing I can say now to the victims is that I'm thinking about you guys, and prayers are indeed being sent to you and your family.

Happy hump day everyone! Today outfit feature is totally preppy, and I got that idea from helping my daughter out with her homework. I don't know about you, but YouTube is a wonderful refresher course, and I had to brush up on my divisions and grammar (simple, complex, and compound sentences, etc.).  So I wanted to honor all the teachers out there by featuring this outfit

This skirt is a revisit from the last time I wore it here. I decided to change it up by adding this nice pretty maroon color sweater. The thick gold chain was to give this a more modern look and feel. The final touch was the pretty white pump to give this whole look a refreshingly clean and autumn look.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. You will soon come to find that I like reusing clothes that I have a lot, and today feature is no exception. I decided to feature this graphic tee that I wore here, with my girlfriend jeans worn here. The final outcome is an old school combination with a bit of sass to it. How I envision wearing both pieces was indeed a success, especially when I purchase both items independently.

Right now I'm on a super-tight budget for clothes and haven't made single new clothes purchases in over 2 months. Next month I hope that can change, but I highly doubt it lol...hehe. By the way, these red pumps are super comfortable and because of that, I decided to get another pair in black. You can still find these very same pairs over by Target over here. You can also swing and get this leopard belt from there as well since you no doubt see me rocking them a lot.

Each year I like to celebrate my birthday by going to different states & countries. The destination doesn't really matter, my life goals is to go.... go.... go. Life is too short not to experience what this vast world has to offer. This year destination was something I always wanted to do, since the last time I visited ATL it was super brief, and I didn't really get to enjoy much there. This time around I allocated a total of 3 days to see what ATL had to offer, and I end up having the greatest time there.

We arrived Thursday night, and by Friday Morning we were off and running. Our first visit was the Georgia Aquarium, and later that day we visited the Coco-Cola Museum since both attractions are in the same area. Saturday we visited Stone Mountain, which could have easily taken up all my time. After a long day at Stone Mountain, we decided to hit the 'underground mall" which wasn't much to begin with, and I could have easily dropped that visit if I knew -_-. Sunday we checked out Martin Luther King Jr hometown before we finally headed to the airport to catch our afternoon flight.

Since I want to limited the amount of pictures for this post, I will just share some of my favorite pictures from there.

Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia aquarium is home to many animals, species, and attractions. It is considered one of the largest aquariums in the western hemisphere and I had a great time exploring it, but I have to admit that I have seen bigger aquarium (sorry Atlantians).
World of Coca-Cola

The World of Coca-Cola is a museum that showcasing the history of The Coca-Cola Company. There are a bunch of rooms that have some attraction ranging from history to even pop culture. That last bit of the tour is where you get to taste several sodas from around the world.

My daughter ends up enjoying this attraction the most. Even now she is still going off about this museum and the difference tastes of soda that is offered there. One of the pictures seen here is her tasting a soda that wasn't to her liking...lol


 



Stone Mountain

I believe that Stone Mountain is not really a mountain, but a hill? If it is a hill, why call it Stone Mountain? By the way, don't quote me on this, because my daughter stated that the tour guide mentions this. I have to be honest and state that I was too busy chattering with one of my friends and didn't hear a darn thing, so if someone can verify the above statement, I would greatly appreciate it.

The carving on the stone depicts three confederate soldiers (Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis) during the Civil War with their favorite horses. The craving is larger than a football field and is even bigger than Mount Rushmore. So when I say this park is a sight to behold, trust me, it's a sight to behold.

I also later found out that this mountain was once owned by the Venable Brothers, which use to house the second Ku Klux Klan around 1915. It was later purchased by the State of Georgia in 1958. To me, this finding totally made sense, especially regarding the huge carving that grace this park and Atlanta rich history in regards to the civil right movements etc.

This park is huge and I could not even put a dent on all the attraction and hiking trails that were there. So if you ever visit, plan one whole day for that area at least.

Martin Luther King Jr Birth Place 

You know I had to visit MLK hometown in Atlanta, Georgia. Even though I didn't have enough time to tour the inside of his home, I was still inspired by his words that was spoken loudly though out the street that was memorialize for him.

While you are there you will also get to read and learn about the Civil Rights movement, and the Freedom Riders, etc. All of this is completely free, so if you ever down there, try to include that area as a must do. First picture is of me and my daughter standing in front of his house.
