What I Wore: Black High-Low Tank Top + Yellow Skinny Jeans
4:04 PMI really love this top, and the detail that is hidden from the front until you turn around. I thought the black pump was a nice touch to this outfit as well. No matter how much I work out, I can never get rid of this "thickness", so I have come to embraced it lol.
I need to do more with my makeup, so I will be practicing some more the upcoming months. I just need to find an everyday type of make-up that looks both natural and is easy to apply. I stop using my foundation when I found it to be to light (example can be found here). Now that fall is around the corner, hopefully I can start wearing my foundation again. Still on the lookout for the right lipsticks, and will be releasing a review on the one that I really like soon. Ladies (my followers), if you are a make-up guru, help a sister out please.
Outfit Consist of : Black Owl High-Low Tank Top | Skinny Jeans Yellow | Stackable Watch & Bracelet | Black Pumps | Black Purse.

Tres Chic! I love the owl print too! The gold and black watch complemented the outfit very nicely!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I so agree about the gold and black watch :D.
DeleteYou look awesome! Talk about toned and fit yes ma'am!
ReplyDeleteThanks Takei :D. I'm about up to 30 push up now thanks to you lol.
DeleteWe are about the same complexion. For a nude lip, try Mac Lipglass in Shock-o-latte. I have several from Mac that I live. Not cheap but.... Also check out Destiny Godley's YouTube channell. She's about a shade lighter than me but she reviews TONS of makeup and I've found some great stuff by following her. Not a makeup guru but my dark skin causes me to do a lot of research prior to buying. Good luck. You look fab!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Charlotte!!! I'm going to check out the Mac nude lip, and I just subscribe to Destiny Godley's Channel. She has a couple of lipsticks that I really like on her already. Plus her complexion is closer to me.
DeleteMe again "Unknown" , Aka Charlotte :-)
ReplyDeleteI wanted to comment once more because I do know how hard it is for a sista to find a good shade of foundation and lipstick!
I get tons of compliments when I wear Young Rapunzel( inspired by Azelia Banks) by MAC but I think it was a limited edition. Still, this link should help you: http://www.afrobella.com/2013/03/04/the-25-best-mac-lipsticks-for-women-of-color/. They also have information on the best drugstore brands. Flori Roberts lipstick in Jaguar is also a good one. You can find it on Amazon.
My goto foundation is actually Deepest Deep by Bare Minerals. You can find it in Sephora or at Ulta. Works well if your skin is relatively even. I use the matte version but I'm quite a bit older than you appear to be. I also tried Makeup Forever as reviewed by Destiny but I am very dark with yellow undertones unlike many dark women who have red undertones. Bobbi Brown worked well but I had to mix 2 shades to get it right and it is EXPENSIVE. I have been unable to find ANY drugstore brand that didn't break me out and I've tried almost everything. Again... good luck.
I Google Young Rapunzel MAC and that is the color I like. Very pretty, going to see if I can find something similar (it is not available right now though Mac). I am going to also check out the foundations you suggested. I just want the right combination which also doesn't break out my skin since I'm very prone to breakouts. Thanks so much for your input Charlotte. Appreciate it :)
