Style Edition: Messy Pinned Criss-Cross Updo

6:02 PM

I woke up early yesterday, and decided to do an updo for work. Below are the pictures. I called this "the messy updo "since I didn't spend a lot of time doing it. You will notice in the picture, the criss-cross pattern is not at all perfect, but it still looked very natural and elegant. I used one of my Flexi-8 that I purchase a while back to keep my sisterlocks pinned. I also included a "How To" below.

Material Needed
Flexi-8 or Hair Clip

Step 1) Decided which side you want to have your free locks to lay.

Step 2) Your front part SHOULD NOT be parted perfectly. Just grab a handful of locks and hold it down with a hair tie.

Step 3) Bend your head down and slowly finger comb your sisterlocks or locks toward the front of your head. This will look like you going to do a stright up ponytail.

Step 4) Starting from the bottom of your head (make sure your head is still bended downward) you going to pick a side (left or right) and slowing start bringing some locks over to the opposite side.

Step 5)  Make sure to keep your fingers in the middle of your head, this is where your locks will be overlapping as you continue to grab the next side/set of locks. Continue the process of bring your locks from left to right until your criss-cross pattern reach the top of your head. Note: You can make your criss-cross pattern as detail as you want. My criss-cross pattern was quick and messy.

Step 6) Use your Flexi-8 or Hair Clip to hold down the locks.
