Stylish Blogger Award
2:57 PM
So last weekend, I received a visit form a fellow blogger who awarded me with the "Stylish Blogger Award", and I wanted to send a warm thank you to her.
Kreyola: because she has experienced alopecia areata and survived (*grin*) and writes fairly informative articles on Sisterlocks and hairloss.
Now on to the Acceptance Speech *kidding*
Below are 7 facts about me
Bajan Lily give me the award because...
Kreyola: because she has experienced alopecia areata and survived (*grin*) and writes fairly informative articles on Sisterlocks and hairloss.
Now on to the Acceptance Speech *kidding*
Below are 7 facts about me
1. My mom, little brother, and I will get bout of hair lost when we are hit with high stress. I first notice it happening to my mom, then it happened to me, and then my brother had a turn. My brother and I were able to recover, but my mom is still struggle till this day with hair loss.
2. I learn how to really read and write when I got to high school (the school in Miami Dade wasn't all that great back in those day). I still struggle at times, and will constantly go back and see where I can improve, especially where my writing skill is concern. That is why I tend to avoid shorting wording words when I text or even type, for example I don't do "U" for "You" or Pls for "Please" or "Thx" for "Thanks", because I fear that I would regress in my writing skill. Strange I know, and I hope one day it won't be a constant struggle, and I can let this pickiness go. I know I still have issues, but I do see improvements, and hopefully you guys can bear along with me and correct me if you see anything glaring =).
3. I have a beautiful daughter who is my WORLD. She is my best friend and the love of my life currently. She still tries to protect me, even though she is only five, and barely weight 37 pounds.
4. I a technology geek, I own my first computer at the tender age of sixteen (Window Me OS), and was developing website before I even knew there were a career in it. Now I currently own a computer, laptop, Kindle, iPod (backup of over 6.6 gig of music), and an iPhone. I think iPad is dumb, and that is why it’s not on my list, but if I ever win one, I won’t turn it down lol.
5. I take ton of pictures, and this all steam from the fact that I don't have any picture of me as a baby nor as a young girl. Pictures to me are memories that need to be kept, and shared, and I'm bound and determined to do so.
6. I love to dance and I mean "I LOVE" to dance. I use to get wild in the club until I started getting hit on by some 20 - 23 years old , and when I try to politely turn them down, I get the dumb comments "Oh I like older women". I never thought being 28 years old was old o_O. So now I stick to Zumba, and house party where I can dance to Kompa music etc.
7. I'm used to be very shy when I was younger; I had my first boyfriend at the age of 21, which had my friends thinking I was gay. I wasn’t gay I assure you, I was just shy! I remember going to college one day, and a super cute guy ask for my number, but I was so shy that I blur out that I have a boyfriend *face palm*, till this day I still shake my head in horror. It also very hard for me to say "NO" to anyone that I consider my friends and families, even though some people in the past has taken advantage of that fact. I somewhat grew out of my shyness, but I still can't say "no" to my friends etc.
Below are the reasons why I awarded this award to these fellow bloggers.
Bajan Lily - I was struggling with hair lost, so I happen to Google for a blog that has someone struggle with hair loss as well. Her blog showed up and the rest was history. She had one post that really hit home for me and I just LOVED her sense of humor when sharing her stories.
Zar - Was my first follower and commenter. She been there from the very beginning, and her comments are always comforting. Her memorial post for me was knotting dreads.
Naturally Unique - I recently found out about her, and she happens to be a sisterlocks consultant. How awesome is that? Her memorial post was about the many uses of coconut oil.
Nicole is the new black - I love her YouTube videos and recently discover her blog. She is a Sisterlocks DIYer and has a great set of sisterlocks.
Embraced My Sisterlocks in NJ - I love her blog. I been following her for a while now and love all her sisterlocks updates.
Sisterlocked - She is a Floridian, what more can I say. She has an awesome set of sisterlocks, and she has the CUTEST baby girl and is also inspecting her second.
Pebbles - If you are looking for great sisterlocks styles, check her blog out. She rock sisterlocks like nobody business. She just recently celebrated her two year anniversary.
Dewdrop - She is such an inspiration to me. She is one of the first blog that I use to follow religiously when I was considering sisterlocks, and to this day she always keep her blog updated with her journey. I love that!!!
Blaqkofi - She is a awesome blogger, and is a wonderful sisterlocks consultant, from the look of her client’s sisterlocks. She always has a posts that are inspirational. She is a veteran through and true. Note: I listed her here but I don't want to bother her due to her recent lost, but I will let her know when a little more time has past.
Cadarious - He is a brother that blog. How great is that! On top of that, he is a DIYer, and has interlocked his girlfriend hair. So cool!!
Locks-N-Motion - I remember seeing her on the sisterlocks facebook fan page and I thought "I can't wait for my sisterlocks to reach her length." Then I found her on Bajan Lily blog talking about her hair lost, and I started follower her. She release a post that detail her struggles, and from then on I was impress, you should check out her blog since she will be starting another set of sisterlocks soon.
