Hair Review - Every Day Challeges
4:00 PMThis is my first time doing a hair review, so don't worry about missing anything. I find that my micro Sisterlocks are always changing and evolving. I'm face with every day challenges that will just get more challenge as my hair continues to grow. As you know I went and saw my dermatologist on September 3 to figure why my hair was thinning and how to avoid that in the future. You can find out more about my visit here. I just wanted to do a hair review and show you guys how my hair is looking currently.
Below is the tip of my locks. I wonder if these ever truly lock. Or does the hair continue to shed until it reaches the lock end? I ran into another Sisterlocks sister and she stated her ends never really locked. But her hair locked lock to me, and she stated her hair was locked. Click on the image below for a more detail look.
Below is a close up of my lock in full detail. For the most part, my locks are pretty healthy, but there are areas that are not so healthy. Due to my thinning hairs, some of my lock starting to thin out, giving way to what I consider unhealthily locks. I am going to have to talk to my consultant to find out what my option are concerning that area. I may end up having a couple of two headed dragon in that area, which if my hair continue to grow, I may have slighter bigger locks in that area. To see them better, I advise you to click on the image to enlarge.

Very educational
ReplyDelete@Zena Thanks again for the comment. Glad you were able to pick something out of this post =)
ReplyDeleteOMG I have had buds come off the ends and I have even had some unravel.
ReplyDeletePretty shocking to me.
I have been 'locked' 2.5 years and I started questioning if my hair was trying to reverse.
My hair DOES see water every day since I work out and sweat ridiculously.
Maybe I need to change shampoos - I dunno - kinda confused.
@Shirly I'm close to being 2 years locked and my sisterlocks have some buds coming off and unraveling, but it still does what it wants to do and that is to lock. I wouldn't be too concern unless you have major slippages at the root of your head. Then you may want to consider change shampoos.
ReplyDeleteIf you feel that you are sweating to much then I suggest braiding your hair down (or put it in a ponytail) and using a handkerchief to soak up your sweat. I tend to sweat a a lot around my forehead and neck area and the handkerchief does wonder for that area.
Thanks for the compliment. The itchiness is really annoying. It took many trial and errors before I was able to stop the itchiness. Washing your hair more and putting a little oil in that area will help (only do this once your sisterlocks has settle). Search for the recipe in my blog for an itchy oil controller mixture.
